A Historic Step in Advancing Women’s Cricket in Tamil Nadu
The Tamil Nadu Tape Ball Association (TNTA) proudly conducted its first-ever Women’s Team Selection Trials, a landmark event that symbolizes the growing recognition and participation of women in the sport of tape ball cricket. This event marked a new chapter in TNTA’s mission to provide equal opportunities for both men and women athletes across the state.
The selection trials were successfully held on October 5, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Vigneshwara Nagar, Jalladiampet, Medavakkam, Chennai. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from aspiring women cricketers representing various districts of Tamil Nadu. Each participant showcased remarkable skill, discipline, and enthusiasm, reflecting the true spirit of the game.
Under TNTA’s certified and structured framework, the trials were conducted with complete fairness and transparency. The objective was to identify the most talented and deserving players who will go on to represent Team Tamil Nadu in the prestigious National Women’s Tape Ball Championship, scheduled to be held in Ballarsha, Maharashtra, from October 26–28, 2025.
The event served as a platform not only to select players but also to encourage women from different backgrounds to step forward and pursue their sporting aspirations. It highlighted TNTA’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity, grassroots development, and gender equality in sports.
TNTA believes that talent has no boundaries and that every district across Tamil Nadu holds potential champions waiting to be discovered. By conducting structured tournaments and transparent selection trials, the association continues to bridge the gap between local talent and national-level exposure.
This successful event stands as a proud milestone for Tamil Nadu’s sporting community and reinforces TNTA’s long-term vision of making the state a leading force in tape ball cricket at both the national and international levels.
Together, let’s keep the Tape Ball revolution alive!
